🧪 Coupons & standards

Coupons and calibration standards, from a metallurgical lab.

Two jobs, one supplier. Corrosion coupons that tell you how fast a system is losing metal, and certified reference coupons that keep your OES and XRF analyzers honest. Tell us what you are monitoring or what you are running, and we will quote it.

Corrosion coupons

The right alloy, prepared properly.

A coupon only tells the truth if it is the same metal as the system it is monitoring and it was prepared to a known starting condition. Both are easy to get wrong when coupons are bought as a commodity. We are a metallurgical lab, so the alloy and the surface prep are the part we take seriously.

  • Alloy matched to your systemTell us the service and we will recommend the alloy rather than defaulting to carbon steel.
  • Prepared and pre-weighedCleaned and weighed to a documented starting mass, per ASTM G1 practice.
  • Identified and documentedEach coupon ships with its ID and initial mass recorded, so your exposure data holds up later.
  • Advice includedCoupon style, placement, and exposure period, from people who read corroded metal for a living.
Coupon styles

Pick the coupon that fits the access you have

TO CONFIRM — replace the three cards below with the styles PMI actually stocks.

Strip / flat

TO CONFIRM — dimensions, alloys, and mounting. The common general-purpose coupon, mounted on a holder in the flow.

Disc

TO CONFIRM — dimensions and alloys. Used where a compact profile suits the access fitting.

OES & XRF standards

A standard is only as good as its certificate.

An analyzer calibrated against an uncertain sample produces confident, wrong numbers, and nobody finds out until a grade call goes bad. Our reference coupons ship with a certificate of composition, so the readings you stake decisions on trace back to something documented.

  • Certified compositionEvery standard ships with its certificate. TO CONFIRM — state the certifying method and any traceability.
  • For OES and XRF alikeMobile and benchtop OES, handheld and benchtop XRF.
  • Matched to what you actually runTell us the alloy families you analyze and we will match the standards to them, not to a generic set.
  • Verification, not just calibrationKeep one aside as a check sample to prove the instrument still reads true between calibrations.

Tell us what you need

Pick what you know and leave the rest — we will come back with what we would recommend, the price, and the lead time.

How ordering works

Three steps, no account required

1

Tell us what you run

The service conditions for corrosion coupons, or the instrument and alloy families for standards. "Not sure" is a valid answer to any of it.

2

We quote it

We come back with what we would supply, the price, and the lead time, and we will say so if you are asking for the wrong thing.

3

It ships documented

Corrosion coupons with their ID and initial mass. Calibration standards with their certificate of composition.

Order coupons or standards

Tell us what you are monitoring or what you are running, and we will recommend what fits, then quote it.

Already have coupons out of service? We also do corrosion analysis on returned specimens.
